Green Planet - Raising Questions About the Green Future of the Lingerie Industry

2025-08-01 13:20:44 interfiliere-seo

INTERFILIÈRE Shanghai

In today’s era of accelerated change and resource constraints, sustainable fashion is no longer optional for the lingerie industry but a systemic challenge for the entire textile and apparel sector. INTERFILIÈRE SHANGHAI, as a core platform for the global intimate apparel industry, highlights advanced materials and sustainable actions.

On October 13–14, with the support of Lenzing Group, the “Green Planet” sustainable zone will return, focusing on three core topics to explore feasible paths toward a green future.

Green Transformation Is Mandatory

Without meeting green standards, supply chains risk losing access to key markets like the EU and brand procurement systems. This trend aligns with new EU regulations such as the Green Deal and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). France’s Eco-Score law, for instance, imposes €5–10 environmental taxes on low-scoring products.

Major international groups have embedded sustainability into their strategies. H&M Group targets 100% recycled or renewable materials by 2030, already reaching 89% by 2024. PVH Group (Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger) reduces carbon emissions through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and enforces green compliance across its supply chain.

Three Key Topics: Quality, Circularity, Traceability

Drawing on global policies and lingerie trends 2025, INTERFILIÈRE’s French shareholder federation designed three topics for the 2025 Green Planet zone:

· Good Quality, Longer Product Life: Extend product lifecycles through material stability, structural durability, and consumer education.

· Circular Economy – Recyclability: Build closed-loop systems by designing lingerie products that are easier to recycle despite complex structures.

· Traceability: Transparency in raw materials and production processes is now a necessity for brand trust and compliance.

These topics provide actionable touchpoints in design, manufacturing, and sales, guiding industry professionals toward greener solutions.

Exhibition as Action

As an industry platform, INTERFILIÈRE SHANGHAI also adopts sustainable measures: modular booth construction, fewer printed materials with digital alternatives, promotion of low-carbon travel, and onsite waste sorting. The Green Planet zone combines topic displays, material samples, and visual demonstrations, making sustainability visible and tangible.

A Collective Question for the Industry

The transformation of the intimate fashion industry relies on consensus, collaboration, and persistence, not just one brand or technology. Green Planet is not the final answer but a meaningful question—about quality, circularity, and traceability, and how we can reimagine the industry's green potential.

By anchoring these discussions at leading intimate apparel trade shows, INTERFILIÈRE SHANGHAI aims to inspire collective industry action toward a more sustainable future.
