Aware of the challenges in a rapidly evolving market, Matthieu Pinet has shared his vision of lingerie and has anticipated the highlights of the upcoming edition of the show.
The lingerie market has evolved greatly in recent years. What major trends have been observed in the sector?
The lingerie market has undergone major changes in recent years. A major transformation has been the gradual disappearance of the big seasonal trends. This homogeneity has now given way to a greater diversity of styles and products, reflecting the evolution of consumer needs and desires. However, the wellness market has continued to grow and has welcomed a growing number of players. Lingerie has integrated into a broader well-being and lifestyle trend, while lingerie boutiques have moved towards what we can call "concept stores."
How has the structure of the Lingerie Show evolved?
The International Lingerie and Interfilière Paris Show has taken place at Hall 3 of the Porte de Versailles in Paris. Daily highlights have been key moments of the show, such as the creative talks, particularly the one by Pascal Gaulrand, who has welcomed around fifteen exhibitors presenting innovations and specific know-how. These talks have enriched the space and have offered an exclusive cocktail with discussions about collections.
What visual themes and atmosphere have been chosen for the show this year?
For this edition, we have decided to work on natural fabrics to create a more "elegant" atmosphere, offering a more sophisticated mood for the brands. Many of them have worked hard on their stands to have contributed to the overall experience.
What new brands or collections have been highlighted in this edition? How have they redefined the codes of lingerie?
This year, we have welcomed the return of brands like Zimmerli, Maison Lejaby, and Derek Rose, key players in the industry. For the first time, we have featured the brand Kiki de Montparnasse. Additionally, niche brands have returned to the wholesale market, including Talc, Candice Fauchon, Anoones, and Swedish Stockings. We have also featured sourcing areas offering tools for brands to present their production tools and services.
The Lingerie Show has been a major international event. How has it maintained its attractiveness?
By continually renewing its offer and global experience, the event has brought together finished products and sourcing under one roof, offering a unique opportunity for our industry. This is why the show has remained the most important global event for lingerie professionals.
What major challenges has the lingerie industry faced in the coming years, and how has the show helped answer them?
We have all been aware that the economic context has been complicated, and the challenges have been many. However, trade shows have remained the best way for brands to meet buyers. It has been essential that we have continued working closely with the future leaders of the sector. The more coherent we have been in our offer and approach, the more successful we have been in representing the future of the market.
