NILIT, the world's leading manufacturer of nylon 6,6 for apparel, and Samsara Eco, an eco-technology innovator, announced that they plan to invest in the construction of a recycled polymer production base for nylon 6,6 textiles in Southeast Asia to help fully realize the recycling of nylon 6,6.
Approximately 4 million tons of nylon6,6 are produced every year, making it one of the most widely used fibers in the high-performance apparel and fashion industries. However, the recycling of nylon 6,6 is currently a challenging topic. When mixed with other fibers such as spandex, it becomes even more difficult to recycle. NILIT and Samsara Eco are looking to work together to address this issue head-on.
Scheduled to be operational by the end of 2026, the facility will have the unique ability to recycle textile waste and produce high-quality recycled nylon 6,6 polymers for brands and producers to use seamlessly in their existing supply chains, allowing for the infinite creation of new textile fabrics.
